Former President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor, has praised the Vice President and presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for his initiative to train approximately 1 million Ghanaian youth in digital skills.
This proposal is part of Dr. Bawumia’s plan to create 4 million jobs for young people during his tenure as president. He believes that training 1 million young Ghanaians in digital skills will enhance his goal of making Ghana a digital hub in Africa and will also provide more international opportunities for the youth.
In an interview with Asempa FM, former President Kufuor highlighted the significance of this proposal, stating that in a time when technology is crucial globally, it is essential to equip 1 million Ghanaians with digital skills.
“He has also mentioned that he will train 1 million youth in digital skills. This means that you could be in Ghana and land an outsourcing job in the USA, earning a good income,” said the former president.
“It is not always necessary for the government to build factories and create jobs. The private sector plays a vital role in this regard.”
“Bawumia’s proposal aims to provide our young people with the education and skill training they need to be ready for the global market.”
