20-year-old hairdresser’s apprentice, Esther Amoh Blankson, is currently recovering from severe injuries after being brutally beaten by her father, Nana Amoh, with an electrical cable in Twifo Praso, Twifo Atti-morkwa of the Central Region.
Esther arrived home from work at 1 am on October 12, 2024, only to find that her father had locked her outside the house. When she asked for the keys, her father refused, suspecting that she had been with her boyfriend and had returned home late from work.
Esther waited until 3 am before breaking the door to get inside. According to her, her father not only forced her out of the room when he found her inside, but also subjected her to severe beatings.
The next morning, Esther discovered that her phone and Gh¢370 cash were missing from her bag. Her father admitted taking the items and demanded that she replace the broken padlock before he returned them. An argument ensued, and her father assaulted her with an electrical cable, causing severe wounds.
In an interview with Media, the father admitted to the assault but alleged that Esther had insulted him in front of his workers.
As a result of her injuries, Esther is currently struggling to sleep.
