Former NPP Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has expressed deep frustration with the party’s disciplinary committee after she showed up for a scheduled hearing on April 7, 2025, only to discover it had been postponed without her knowledge.
Adwoa Safo was summoned before the committee following comments she made on JoyNews’ The Pulse show—remarks the party believes breached internal directives discouraging public discussions that could cause disaffection within the party.
Speaking to the media at the NPP headquarters, she questioned the lack of communication from the committee.
“There was no committee sitting today… Why wasn’t I personally informed? Why wasn’t I contacted by phone?” she asked, clearly disappointed.
She criticized the handling of the situation as unprofessional and stressed that such matters should be addressed with greater seriousness and respect.
“As a party, we need to take these matters more seriously… This could have been handled much more effectively,” she said.
Hon. Safo further noted that being referred to a disciplinary committee implies wrongdoing, and the party’s actions risked publicly embarrassing her.
“The message being sent to the public is that I have done something wrong… I’ve come here, but there is no one here, which suggests the case is either baseless or there is no finding on it,” she added.
Despite her frustration, Adwoa Safo reaffirmed her loyalty to the party and stated her willingness to appear whenever rescheduled.
“I will be available to appear before the party whenever I’m called upon,” she confirmed.
The disciplinary committee later cited internal considerations and scheduling adjustments for the postponement, assuring her that a new date would be communicated in due course.
