Ashanti Police Arrest Three Over Murder of Two Mobile Money Vendors, Hunt for Fourth Suspect

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has apprehended three individuals in connection with the alleged robbery and murder of two mobile money vendors in the region.

As stated by the police, the first incident occurred on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in Krofrom, where a mobile money vendor, Patricia Nimako, was tragically attacked and killed.

The perpetrators made off with an unspecified amount of money.

According to the police statement, the second incident occurred on the night of Monday, March 10, 2025, at Kwadaso, where another mobile money vendor, Gideon Owusu Sarpong, alias “Junior”, was robbed and fatally attacked at his home.

After conducting thorough investigations, the police apprehended three suspects – Charles Kwame Danso (23), alias “Kwame Charles” or “Miami”, Philip Foujour (29), and Samuel Addae Mensah (42) – on March 21, 2025, in separate locations at Pankrono and Atimatim.

According to the statement, the three suspects are presently being held in police custody, pending their imminent arraignment in court to face charges related to the alleged robbery and murder.

The police have said they are actively searching for a fourth suspect, Martin Amoah, also known as Augustine Amoah or “Baba Macho”, who is thought to be in hiding in one of several locations, including Kumasi, Dunkwa-on-Offin, Diaso in the Central Region, or Accra.

The Police Command is seeking the public’s help and cooperation in tracking down Martin Amoah, urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward and assist in his apprehension.

“Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the Police via the Toll-Free number 191,112 (18555 MIN and Telecel),” the statement read.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command is reaffirming its dedication to upholding justice and is counting on the public’s support to help bring all culprits to justice.

Meanwhile, they are urging citizens to remain watchful and report any suspicious activities, ensuring that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
