Fire Service Apologizes to Ashanti Regional Minister Over Controversial Remarks

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has issued an official apology to the Ashanti Regional Minister following controversial remarks made by AD01 Alex King Nartey, a member of its Public Relations Team, regarding the recent fire outbreak in Adum, Kumasi. The Service described the comments as inappropriate and extended “unreserved and profound apologies” to the Minister, acknowledging his crucial role in managing the crisis. The statement also expressed gratitude for the regional authorities’ efforts in containing the fire while reaffirming GNFS’s commitment to fire prevention and effective emergency response.

Furthermore, the GNFS assured the public that disciplinary action would be taken against the officer involved to maintain professionalism within the service.
