A 50-year-old man, Eric Adu Amissah, has been sentenced to six years in prison by the Twifo Hemang District Court, presided over by Judge Maxwell Ofori Kpodo, for sexually assaulting seven young girls in Twifo Heman, within the Heman Lower Denkyira District.

All seven victims, minors between the ages of six and seven, attended a cultural dance school owned and operated by Eric Adu Amissah.

According to Chief Inspector Joseph Kussah, Adu Amissah abused his authority as a cultural dance instructor, exploiting the trust placed in him by his young students.

Reports indicate that Eric Adu Amissah employed manipulative strategies to groom his victims, including buying them treats like soft drinks and toffees.

He then allegedly used lubricant on himself to carry out the abuses.

The abuse was discovered after several girls fell ill consecutively and were taken to the hospital by their parents. During medical examinations, the girls revealed that they had been sexually assaulted by Eric Adu Amissah.

Prosecutor Chief Inspector Joseph Kussah revealed that Adu Amissah went into hiding for six months after being granted bail, hindering the investigation’s progress.

Following an intensive manhunt by the Central North Regional Police Cyber Unit, Adu Amissah was finally arrested at his hideout in Adenta, Greater Accra Region.

Eric Adu Amissah appeared before the Twifo Hemang District Magistrate’s Court on March 5, 2025, facing seven charges of indecent assault, to which he entered a guilty plea without any conditions or reservations.
