Former Finance Minister, Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta, has dragged two senior police officers to court over what he describes as an unlawful search and invasion of his privacy at his residence.

In a writ of summons issued by the High Court of Justice, General Jurisdiction, Accra, and signed by Mrs. G. Sackey Torkornoo, Mr. Ofori-Atta is suing DSP Bismarck Boakye Ansah and Chief Inspector Mensah a.k.a. Sir Mensah, both stationed in Accra.

The duo are believed to be operatives of the National Security.

According to the Statement of Claim, Mr. Ofori-Atta is seeking a declaration that the officers’ entry into his home located at 25 Aborlebu Crescent, Labone, Accra (GL-041-2486), and the search conducted on February 11, 2025, was unlawful, trespassory, and a gross violation of his constitutional right to privacy.

Mr. Ofori-Atta contends that the police officers entered his property without any legal justification or warrant, thereby committing trespass and breaching his right to privacy.
