A tragic accident occurred on the Tema-Mpakadan railway yesterday when a train collided with a woman, resulting in severe head injuries that ultimately led to her death.
According to eyewitnesses, the woman was walking alongside her young daughter, estimated to be around 3 to 5 years old, when the train approached.
In a heroic act, the woman instinctively pushed her daughter out of harm’s way, ensuring the child’s safety before being struck by the oncoming train.
The incident has sparked debate about why she did not notice the approaching train, especially given the noise it typically makes.
Reports indicate that the deceased was wearing an earpiece, which may have prevented her from hearing the train.
