The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has announced important plans for the recovery of the Offin Shelterbelt Forest Reserve, which has been severely impacted by illegal miners, commonly referred to as “galamseyers.” This long-standing issue has led to significant environmental degradation.
Additionally, the Minister introduced the upcoming “Tree for Life” project, a key initiative designed to rejuvenate and restore the degraded land to its original state.
Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, observed these developments firsthand during his regional visit today, which aimed to assess the conditions of various forest reserves.
