Ishmael Famous, a teacher at Asuaso Senior High School in the Offinso North Municipality of the Ashanti Region, has made a shocking confession—he deeply regrets his decision to become a teacher.
Once a profession that sparked his passion, teaching has now lost its appeal, leaving him feeling disappointed and disillusioned.
His regret intensified following an altercation with a student on December 18, 2024, which resulted in the loss of his left eye.
Describing the incident, Famous explained that he was simply instructing some students who were buying food during class hours to return to the classroom. “I stepped out to fulfill my responsibilities as a teacher and found two students at the canteen. I calmly told them to go back to the classroom. However, one of the students refused to obey my command, and the situation escalated unexpectedly. He responded aggressively and stabbed me in my left eye,” he recounted.
After undergoing a series of treatments at the hospital for two months, doctors informed him that his left eye was completely damaged. He lamented, “I have deeply regretted pursuing this profession.”
