The Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee has reported receiving a total of 2,417 complaints from the Ghanaian public regarding suspected corruption.

The Chairman of the ORAL Committee, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, made this disclosure while submitting the committee’s report to President John Mahama on February 10. The report details the 2,417 complaints gathered from citizens in response to the committee’s appeal for reports of corruption.

In his address to the president before presenting the report, Ablakwa emphasized that corruption remains a significant concern for Ghanaians. He highlighted that the public is eagerly awaiting decisive action from the president to tackle this issue.

The large number of complaints underscores the seriousness of the matter and the urgent need for intervention. Ablakwa noted, “We received 1,493 calls through the toll-free line and 924 emails. Fortunately, all the calls are automatically recorded, and the emails have been preserved for verification and validation. In total, we have received 2,417 complaints.

“For those who questioned the relevance and timeliness of the president’s intervention at that moment, this serves as evidence: 2,417 complaints were filed. Where would these individuals have turned if President Mahama had not established the ORAL Committee?”
