Thursday evening’s Appointments Committee meeting took a dramatic turn as tensions flared between the Majority and Minority members over the vetting schedule for Kwabena Mintah Akandoh and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. The Minority pushed for a postponement to Friday, while the Majority insisted on proceeding as planned, leading to a heated confrontation.

As disagreements escalated, the Majority took drastic steps to prevent any delays, further intensifying the already tense atmosphere. The situation quickly spiraled out of control, resulting in smashed tables and microphones. Security personnel had to step in to restore order amid the chaos.

Despite the Majority’s attempts to extend proceedings past 10 PM, the Minority firmly opposed the move, insisting on ending the session for the day. The dramatic standoff highlights the deep divisions within the committee as tensions continue to rise over the vetting process.
