Frustrated parents and students protested at the West African Examination Council (WAEC)’s Kumasi office, seeking the release of withheld 2024 WASSCE results on Wednesday, 29 January.
Over 2,000 students, mainly from T.I. Ahmadiyya SHS, are stranded as withheld WASSCE results block their path to university admissions.
The Parents disclosed WAEC asked students to report to the regional office to investigate alleged malpractice during the exams.
However, upon arriving at the office as early as 8 a.m., they were unattended by the officials , sparking frustration and demands for immediate action.
Reports say that the parents are concern that the delay is jeopardizing their children’s academic futures and called on WAEC to accelerate its efforts to resolve the issue.
They also called on the council to release the final results swiftly to prevent further disruptions in the students’ further developments.
