President Mahama Names Dzifa Gomashie as Minister-Designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts

Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu South, has been appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as the Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts. This announcement was made on Thursday, January 16.

Dzifa Gomashie is a multi-talented actress, producer, and politician. She previously served as the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts under the National Democratic Congress from 2013 to 2017 during John Mahama’s presidency. Currently, she is the MP for Ketu South and also holds a traditional title as a Queen Mother in the Aflao Traditional Area.

Many in the creative arts industry believe that Dzifa Gomashie’s past experience at the Ministry makes her a strong candidate to lead it as the substantive minister. Her previous role as Deputy Minister has provided her with valuable insights that are expected to benefit her in this new position.
