The Upper Denkyira East
Muncipal Directorate of Education has today honored retired teachers, non-teaching staff and transfer of teachers in a send off ceremony at the premises of the Municipal Education Office in Dunkwa On-Offin in the Upper Denkyira
East of the Central Region.
The ceremony was graced with Traditional Leaders, stakeholders and notable dignitaries.
Speaking at the Ceremony, the Municipal Education Director Mr.Anthony Takyi gave the reason behind the send off ceremony for the retirees.
According to him, this is the first ceremony to be held in a grand way in his time of office as a Municipal Education Director.
Mr. Anthony added that the work of teachers needs to be acknowledged, respected and paid off well, thus the reason for such an occasion to award and honor them with citations.
He urged teachers to do their job diligently to encourage potential students who aspire to be like them.
Mr. Anthony Takyi also commended the retired teachers for their dedication and professionalism during their tenure.
Nana Ntiri Twum Barima, Denkyira Kontihene added a voice as he advised the retirees and the teachers at the ceremony to keep up with the good work and never give up, looking at the challenges they face in the process of making others professionals.
