A man, whose identity has not been disclosed, is in custody for allegedly vandalizing vehicles on the premises of Ghana’s Parliament in Accra.

Reports from Adom News’ Parliamentary correspondent, Ohene Amponsah, indicate that the suspect entered the car park and began smashing several vehicles. The damaged vehicles, which included Land Cruisers, had their windscreens and windows destroyed.

The suspect wielded a hoe, which he used to break the vehicles. Parliamentary security personnel quickly intervened to apprehend the man and prevent further damage before handing him over to police officers stationed at Parliament.

During his apprehension, he was heard saying, “Father, have mercy on them; they do not know what they are doing.” The owners of the affected cars have yet to be identified, although the police have begun an investigation into the incident.
