The Nursing and Midwifery College in Dunkwa On-Offin, located in the Central Region, held its 14th matriculation and 4th graduation ceremony today, November 28, 2024, on the school’s campus.
Hon. Appiah Forson, the Municipal Chief Executive of the Upper Denkyira East constituency, graced the occasion, along with Hon. Adelaide Ntim, the Deputy Minister of Health, traditional leaders from the Dunkwa Traditional Council, stakeholders, and numerous other notable guests.
In his speech, Hon. Appiah Forson expressed his gratitude to the school principal and authorities for providing quality education that empowers young people intellectually, morally, and practically to become responsible and professional health workers who can contribute to the country.
He urged all graduates to adopt compassion and human sympathy in their professional lives as they embark on their careers.
Hon. Forson highlighted the government’s significant contributions to the health sector, mentioning the Agenda 111 hospital facilities and the reintroduction of nurses’ allowances, which were previously boycotted by the opposition party.
The Municipal Chief Executive congratulated the freshers for reaching this new milestone and praised the graduates for their successful completion of studies.
On the other hand, the Denkyira Kontihene, who also holds the title of Badoahene, Odiamono Dr. Ntiri Twum Barima III, expressed his disappointment that some graduates left the ceremony immediately after receiving their certificates.
He advised them to perform well and conduct themselves professionally as they enter the workforce.
Additionally, he welcomed the new students and encouraged them to adhere to all rules and regulations to foster a positive educational relationship with their lecturers.
