The Second Lady of the Her Excellency Samira Bawumia, the Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana, made a visit to the Upper Denkyira East constituency as part of the New Patriotic Party’s campaign tour in preparation for the upcoming elections on December 7, 2024.
During her visit, she was joined by Member of Parliament Dr. Festus Awuah Kwoffie, Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Ebenezer Appiah Forson, Queen Mothers representing the Denkyira Traditional Council, as well as party leaders and members. Together, they expressed solidarity and gratitude, particularly to the Fulani people who gathered to support one of their own.
Dr. Festus Awuah Kwoffie, who also serves as the Deputy Minister for Employment and Labor Relations, conveyed his sincere appreciation for the overwhelming support from party members and leaders who were delighted to meet the Second Lady. He encouraged the community to recognize the positive impacts and changes made by Dr. Bawumia as Vice President and to vote for him as the first and best Muslim president in Ghana’s history. He appealed for their support at the polls, expressing optimism for continued positive infrastructural initiatives from both himself and Dr. Bawumia.
In her address to the gathering, Her Excellency Samira Bawumia thanked everyone for their contributions and dedication to the success of the NPP. She encouraged the audience to vote for a humble, honest, and respectful leader who listens to their concerns—someone as dedicated as Dr. Bawumia. She promised that any requests from the people would be addressed if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia were to assume the presidency.
She highlighted some notable achievements of the NPP government, led by Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia, including advancements in digitalization and the implementation of free education. She emphasized that the improvements in electricity access, safe electronic money transfers, and online renewal of NHIS cards are all thanks to Dr. Bawumia and the NPP government.
Additionally, she mentioned various initiatives aimed at supporting women and youth, which would significantly enhance their lives and productivity in the country. She concluded by urging the gathering to vote for Dr Festus Awuah, stating her readiness to assist the people of Upper Denkyira East and the entire country whenever needed.
Nana AMA Braso III, the Queen Mother of Buabenso in Upper Denkyira East, also spoke on behalf of the Queen Mother. She blessed the Second Lady and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and called for the establishment of a Children’s Hospital in the municipality, noting that it would serve a unique and much-needed purpose.
