Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has expressed strong confidence in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, emphasizing his potential to transform Ghana’s economy if elected in the upcoming December polls.
Mr. Kufuor praised Dr. Bawumia’s impressive skills in economic management, highlighting their successful collaboration during his administration with the Bank of Ghana to strengthen the local currency.
In remarks made to selected journalists on Sunday, November 17, the former president urged Ghanaians to support Dr. Bawumia with a decisive vote, pointing out his capability to accelerate the country’s economic development.
“Given the current global circumstances, I firmly believe that Ghana’s economy will significantly improve if Bawumia is elected as president. With divine guidance, he is capable of delivering on this promise, and I encourage you to support his candidacy.
“I have witnessed his remarkable abilities in enhancing the economy during my tenure, as he played an integral role in the Bank of Ghana’s team under Governor Dr. Paul Acquah, contributing to the revival of the currency.”
