Five students from Mpraeso Senior High School who were on the run for gang-raping their female classmate, have been remanded in police custody for 10 days following the allegations.
This incident has sparked discussions on the importance of proper reporting channels in schools and ensuring justice is served for victims of sexual assault.
Meanwhile, the Nkawkaw District Court presided over by His Worship Isaac Agyei, has ordered the headmaster of Mpraeso SHS, James Affadu, to come before the court.
The headmaster is expected to explain why the school authorities did not immediately report the case to the police and why representatives of the school were absent during court proceedings.
Furthermore, the court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of three other students who are still at large.
Agoo FM News Okysadesba Owusu reports that initially, the suspects were discharged due to irregularities in the charge sheet prepared by the police,
but they were promptly rearrested and brought back to court.
