The Cocoa Health and Extension Division (CHED) under the Ghana Cocobod, in the Dunkwa District, under the leadership of the District cocoa officer, Mr. Peter Arthur, has established an initiative called the Women Cooperative Union to support women and youth in cocoa farming.
The Union will be launched on Friday, October 4th, 2024, in the district at Dunkwa Abankesieso, the Church Of Pentecost. Mr. Arthur revealed this information during a discussion with Nana Tabono on Denkyiraman Radio’s Akuafuo Mmre Show.
Mr. Kofi Agyemang Gyau, the Dunkwa District Extension coordinator, also explained that the theme for the program is “Empowering women and youth in cocoa farming.”
Rose Obenewaa, the District Gender, Environment, and Child Labor coordinator, mentioned that Ghana COCOBOD aims to support the youth and women in cocoa farming to assist the elderly in the production of Cocoa produce.
