Former campaign manager, Hon. Matthew Kwabena Agyarko, who advocated and campaigned for the win of Dr. Festus Awuah Kwoffie, the Member of Parliament for the Upper Denkyira East Constituency and also Deputy Minister for Employment and Labor Relations, has refuted allegations made against Dr. Festus by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate, Hon. Emelia Ankomah.
In an interview with Chief Justice on Denkyiraman Radio’s National Agenda, Hon. Agyarko disclosed that the allegations against Dr. Festus regarding his distribution of head pans to some NPP fishmongers and not others are false propaganda from the NDC parliamentary candidate.
According to Hon. Agyarko, the fishmongers had requested the head pans from the Member of Parliament during his constituency tour and it was not a random gift as speculated by the NDC PC. He also questioned why Hon. Emelia Ankomah shared working items with some skilled workers in the constituency but not with the entire people in the municipality.
In an exclusive interview, some fishmongers expressed their concerns about the news and explained how they had requested bulbs for their huts and head pans for business purposes from Dr Festus.
They also criticized Hon. Emelia for not inquiring about their welfare and needs during her term in office, despite being a woman expected to advocate for them. They urged her to stop spreading rumours about Dr Festus and using his kindness for campaign speeches.
