I’ll allow mining companies in my area if we’ll share profits equally – Dormaahene

Dormaahene, Osagyefo OseadeayoII Agyeman Badu has stated that after years of protecting his lands from illegal mining which destroys lands and water, all he’s been hearing in the town is a lack of jobs and money for the people to live with.

He noted that he had concluded allowing the youths to go on with their activities of extracting the gold but on conditions of the miners sharing the outcome of a 50 per cent share to the government and keeping 50 per cent to themselves.

Osagyefo Agyeman BaduII explained that he has restricted people from illegal mining but has been advising that they do it in the right way to not destroy the environment and water bodies.

He concluded that he wouldn’t hold on to the lands and the resources and allow his subjects to go hungry and jobless.
