A 19-year-old twin identified as Richard Manu has beheaded his biological father, Kwaku Manu, at Assin Akrofuom in the Assin South District of the Central Region.
According to reports, Richard Manu who is an alleged ‘Fraud boy’ and a drug addict earlier accused his father (deceased) of exchanging his destiny for his senior twin brother following a visit to a spiritualist. He claimed that this gave his brother an unfair advantage in becoming wealthy while he suffered the consequences.
However, the confrontation over these accusations turned violent when he reportedly used a machete to attack his father, resulting in his beheading on the spot.
The prompt action taken by the Patrol team of the Central Regional Police Command prevented Richard Manu, also known as Azonto, from being lynched by furious youth in the area.
Meanwhile, the mother and niece of the suspect who attempted to salvage the situation also sustained cutlass wounds on their head and back.
The suspect is presently receiving treatment at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu under police guard.
