The Municipal Chief Executive of Upper Denkyira East municipal Hon Ebenezer Forson Appiah has embarked on a working visit to some communities in the municipality to monitor an ongoing reshaping of 6.6 kilometres of feeder roads in those communities.
The MCE in an interaction with denkyiramanradio.com said the Assembly will relentlessly pursue the reshaping of the road network in the municipality to ensure the safe transportation of persons, goods and services.
The visit took him to Kona, Jamasi, Abudukrom, Kramokrom, Nyamebekyere, and Camp among others.
After the monitoring of the roads, the MCE interacted with the people in the communities to discuss how best the people in the communities could help in the maintenance of the roads to ensure their long life span.
The initiative which is being funded by the Member of Parliament for the Upper Denkyira East Constituency Dr. Festus Awuah Kwofie, is aimed at fixing poor roads in the communities making them accessible and more motorable
He believes the Assembly will continue to collaborate with the MP to work on all other roads within the municipality.
He said communities that have benefited from the first batch of the road rehabilitation project include, Mbradam, Buabin, Sobroso, Prada, Kontokrom, Brentuo, etc
“All other areas will also receive their fair share of the road reshaping project under the second batch,” he stated.
He underscored the importance of good road networks in propelling development in the area and improving the livelihoods of the vulnerable under the projects.
He reiterated that the roads, when motorable, will relieve commuters of the hassle of plying the roads to access social and economic services at the district’s capital.
He therefore charged the people in the area to debunk mischievous statements that the NPP government has neglected the area in terms of development.
He thanked the people for supporting the government and called on them to provide the necessary things needed by their children to facilitate their good education for them to enjoy the Free SHS.
The chiefs, elders and residents, in the communities also thanked the MCE, MP and government for putting their roads into good shape.
