The bridge over the river Offin that connects Dunkwa and Obuasi has been deplored.
The River Offin Bridge is a bridge Situated in Dunkwa-on-Offin of the upper Denkyira East Municipality in the central region and it serves as a vital transportation route which connects a lot of communities around Dunkwa, Ayanfuri, Obuasi and its neighbouring communities.
Reports gathered by DenkyiramanRadio.com indicate that due to the onset of the rains has worsened the situation and made vehicular movement difficult.
Vehicles have been left with no option but to battle with Potholes which some drivers describe as “fish ponds” and “manholes”.
Recently, there have been a lot of car accidents on the bridge due to the deplorable roads.
One of the mysterious accidents that happened recently was when a truck driver lost direction when trying to escape potholes he accidentally hit his car with one of the metals made with the bridge. There were no lives lost but persons with severe injuries were recorded.
Currently, the side of the bridge that was destroyed by the car has not been mended neither the accidental potholes.
