JOURNALIST ALLEGEDLY KILLED IN POLICE CELLS

A 29-year-old journalist who also doubles as a taxi driver has been allegedly killed in a police cell and tied her neck with a rope by police at Mankessim Jedu Divisional Police Command in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.

According to information gathered by Denkyiraman radio revealed that,the Journalist,Kwame Egyama popularly known as Big Money who was a Disk Jokker at Mankessim based Coastal FM for his internship is a taxi at Mankessim when police stopped him on his way, but he refused to stop and on the next day, police saw him and chased him with their motorcycle and got him arrested.

He was then put in the Mankessim Jedu Divisional Police cell which he called his car owner.

According to report the car owner came and settled the case and accepted to pay any costs the police are demanding so the car owner decided to go home and bring money to settle the case in Fifteen minutes time the car owner had a car from the Police that the suspect has hanged himself in a police cell with a rope.

Report says, before the Car owner returns to the police station, the deceased has already taken to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital Mortuary by the police themselves without information the family about it.

The mother of the deceased Abena Menu said, he is the only so who takes care of the family.

She is accusing the police for allegedly killing her son and will also pour libations to curse whoever is behind his death.

Speaking to the father of the deceased Mr. Moses Ocran called on the Mankessim Jedu police to come out and explain to them where his son gets the rope whiles in police custody to hanged herself.

According to the deceased Father, he doesn’t understand why police after the deposited the deceased to the mortuary without information the family, so they suspect the police killed him.

He then kicked against the decision of the police want to do autopsy report without any charge from the family.

Meanwhile, the mother and the entire family of the deceased have threatened to invoke course on the police personals for allegedly killing their son and put rope on his neck.

The family than, called on the Inspector General of Police George Akuffo Dampare and the government to as much as possible act on the case.

They demand justice for the Deceased.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital Mortuary by the police pending autopsy, but the Family of the deceased have kicked against the autopsy.
