Kyekyerwere East Assemblyman Shoots and Kills Two Boys During Alleged Cocoa Theft Attempt

The Assemblyman for Kyekyerwere East, Hon. Kwabena Boateng, who is also a cocoa buyer, has shot and killed two young boys, aged 16 and 20, at his cocoa-buying shop located in Dunkwa Kyekyerwere, in the Central Region.

Hon. Boateng stated that he had been on guard after 35 bags of cocoa were stolen from his shop. Around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21st, while watching over his shop, he saw three suspects attempting to break in. When they tried to escape upon realizing his presence, he fired in their direction, hitting two of the suspects while the third escaped.

Tragically, one of the victims died at the scene, and the other died on the way to the hospital. The assemblyman has been arrested and is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
