Upper Denkyira East Begins “Let There Be Light” Project to Enhance Nighttime Security

The Upper Denkyira East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Ebenezer Forson Appiah has ephasized the Assembly has begun its “let there be light” project by fixing LED Street lights along the principal streets in the municipality.

According to him, the bulbs were to help provide security to the communities.

The Exercise which began on Tuesday, 23 July 2024, Hon. Appiah Forson together with the Assembly electrician and
representatives from the
Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) began installing street lights all around the dark places, leaving no stone unturned.

Hon. Forson in an interview with Denkyiraman Radio said the bulbs were funded by the Deputy Minister, for Employment and Labor Relations and pension who’s also the Lawmaker for the Upper Denkyira East Constituency.

He admitted that quiet a number of areas in the municipality are really dark and dangerous at night, therefore he together with the Lawmaker, took it upon themselves to initiate the action of changing spoilt bulbs and also mounting street lights at places where the lights hasn’t been in past times.

He asked the community members to be patient with the government as the national cake would be shared equally.

He said the new patriotic party government had undertaken unprecedented infrastructure across the country and therefore, urged the citizens to protect and utilize them judiciously.
