The former Chief of the Appiatse Town had died before the tragedy that befell the town, when the whole community was destroyed in a gas explosion.
Okyeame Yaw Asiamah who is part of the king makers in the town, spoke to Denkyiraman Radio explaining that there was a need for a new Chief to rule the town to bring back the town to life as it was before the tragedy.
He also said the coronation went smoothly as Nana Akesseh I was installed and sworn in to serve the town of Appiatse.
Okyeame Yaw continued that many of the victims of the gas explosion are still at the hospital receiving treatment and they are appealing to the government to continue their usual help to enable them to stand on their feet again.
“The Appiatse town is happy to have our town back and a new Chief to lead us through our endeavors. But we are still pleading with the government to come to our aid and bring us infrastructures to enable development in the town”, he added.
