Dunkwa Main Lorry Station to be completed in October – Hon Ebenezer Forson Appiah

Municipal Chief Executive of Upper Denkyira East Constituency, Hon. Ebenezer Appiah Forson has commended the Member of Parliament for the Constituency who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Dr Festus Awuah Kwoffie among many other leaders in the municipality for their efforts in diverse ways to support the building of an ultramodern lorry station for the good people of Dunkwa On-Offin and its enclave.

Hon. Ebenezer in an exclusive interview with Denkyiraman news network, explained that there have been lots of challenges and halts in the process of getting the project done ever since the initiative was implemented by Dr. Festus.

He noted that two separate lawsuits were set against them as some family came in to claim the land, which led to a court injunction on the land and the whole project.

However, due to the efforts of the MCE, Nananom of Denkyira traditional council, Dr. Festus Awuah Kwoffie and other stakeholders, provided documents covering the land to the court and the injunction was finally lifted.

“The journey hasn’t been all rosy, with the discouraging words from individuals, saying many people in government had the same initiative but couldn’t do it.
Facing lawsuits while trying to support the development of a community is not an easy fact to face, but in all, we’ve sailed through with diverse support and efforts”, he noted.

Hon. Ebenezer Forson continued that the ultramodern lorry station has 204 lockable individual stores and another 80 which are being financed by the government.

“In terms of security, there’ll be a police post. There’s a place for the fire service to be situated as well as a nursery school for kids.
This is an ultramodern complex market and lorry station which will be one of a kind, he said.

He added that all these haven’t been allocated to any persons yet until it’s completed by September to October 2024, as assumed by contractors.

The MCE concluded that this project is not politicised or being done for election purposes.

He assured the good people of Dunkwa On-Offin that the long-awaited ultramodern lorry station will come back to live
