Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, an Entertainment Journalist and Pundit has said that the Economic and Organized Crime Office’s decision to audit possessions and unexplained assets of some celebrities and individuals is an initiative that will help the country to fight corruption and improve the country’s economy.
He stated that this isn’t the first time the EOCO has taken such action in the creative arts industry.
Same event took place during NAM1’s brouhaha.
“The organization is not targeting only celebrities as believed by some, they investigate individuals every now and then but it’s laudable with celebrities because of the nature of the job. As a celebrity or public figure, your business is very important to the public as people especially youth look up to you.” He explained.
Arnold Asamoah during an exclusive interview with Chief Justice on Denkyiraman Radio’s National Agenda, added that the EOCO and other organizations are expected to be proactive in their line of work but illegalities sometimes trigger their actions.
He concluded that the “Hajia4reall” incident though brings some questioning into the Arts industry but there are genuine celebrities doing the work to make earns meet, while others get themselves involved in various bad acts.
