A destructive fire outbreak has brought down about 96 shops at the Kasoa New Market in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
According to reports gathered, several other shops were affected by the incident.
However, the swift response of the Ghana National Fire Service saved many more shops.
Meanwhile, Four persons have tragically lost their lives amidst the accident.
The group of four were working on the second floor of the building when it collapsed, killing the carpenter immediately, and three others who unfortunately died while being transported to a hospital.
The Assemblyman for Joe-men-Kpomotey Electoral Area, Mustapha Mohammed, expressed shock at the incident in an interview with the media, as he shockingly said that no one saw the tragedy coming.
