A lady named Evelyn at Offinso Saaboa in the Ashanti Region has been reported for physically abusing an 13-year-old girl she brought in to live with her from the Northern Region.
Residents living in the neighborhood with Evelyn reported that she mercilessly beats the little girl with all sort of items including rods, sticks etc.
Some told the media that the treatment is hurtful such that Evelyn’s husband had to divorce her.
“ She sends the little girl on dangerous errands, deprives her of eating and wearing good clothes”, one resident said.
Some people who were irritated by the situation reported the situation to the police by were transferred to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit.
The girl has however been taken to live with another person who opted to live with her as the woman, Evelyn who is believed to be mentally unstable has been taken to the psychiatric hospital for evaluation.
