The Newly Nominated Ministers and Deputies from Tuesday, March 5, to Tuesday, March 12, will be vetted as scheduled by the Parliament’s Appointment Committee.
President Akufo-Addo conducted a significant cabinet overhaul, with the aim of departing from his conventional practice of maintaining Ministers for longer periods. This comes in response to pressure from various political parties, civil society groups, and even members of his own party.
The reshuffle, announced on Wednesday, February 14 2024, affected approximately 12 current ministers, including 10 cabinet members and two regional ministers.
The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta whose removal from office, a suggestion made by many due his long tenure, Was among those removed from their positions at last.
President Akufo-Addo nominated certain deputy ministers to substantive ministerial roles, while others only migrated from one ministry to new ministries, and it is these individuals who will undergo the vetting process.
