Afua Asantewaa reacts to disqualification by Guinness World Records

Media Personality, Entrepreneur and Tourism Ambassador for Ghana, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has responded to the announcement by the Guinness World Records (GWR) regarding her singing marathon attempt.

This comes after GWR on social media platform Twitter, now X expressed regret over Afua Asantewaa’s inability to break the record for the longest sing-a-thon by an individual.
However, they conveyed hope that she could “make another attempt soon”, acknowledging that her effort was “inspirational for her fans’.
In their statement on Friday, February 2024, GWR explained that the review had already commenced before Afua requested priority service.

As a result, her payment was refunded earlier in the month and extended best wishes to her for any future record attempts.
In response to the statement, the Ghanaian media personality underscored that she received the news of the outcome of her sing-a-thon attempt just moments before hosting a gala dinner and the launch of the Lebanese Scholarship Alumni Network, attended by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

“I would announce my next line of action in a few days. Thank you all for your love and support”, she stated.
