Dr. Daniel Acolor, the Municipal Health Director in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality, has revealed in an exclusive interview with Abena Adepa on Denkyiraman’s Healthline program that one of the vision of the Dunkwa Health Directorate and Traditional Council in 2024 is to rehabilitate all mentally impaired persons in the area.
He said they are looking forward to the Traditional Council providing space as a facility to help accommodate the mentally impaired people.
A task force will be established to assist in identifying all the victims and bringing them aboard to the facility.
Dr. Acolor added that a communique from Nananom will be put across to ensure that all families would know about the initiative and those with victims will know where their relatives with the mental illness will be placed.
He ended by saying that Psychiatric Doctors and Nurses will be employed to see to the needs of the patients both medically and essentially.
