The Environmental Protection Agency’s Head in the Upper Denkyira East area, Mr. Awudu Yoda has called on the general public to take precautions against the current climate change and the effects it taking on the human system.
He advised the public to wear a nose mask, stay indoors if need be, avoid a dusty and cloudy environment, drink plenty of water and part of keeping the body hydrated.
Mr. Awudu in an exclusive interview with Denkyiraman’s reporter Ohene Agyekum Tabono claims the current weather could have effects on both humans and animals, therefore reports should be made on the slightest symptoms of ailments to the nearest health care facility.
Again he cautioned that people who burn rubbish in vicinities close to public places should desist from it.
He said neighbours should promptly report anyone who tries to pollute the environment in these unusual times.
The EPA boss ended by warning various information centers, churches, drinking spots etc to adhere to the rules too, as noise pollution also affects the environment. Mr Awudu said the public should be concerned about this issue or be prepared to face consequences.
