A man in his mid-thirties, known as Ezekiel Aikins who goes about his business in Wassa Akropong in the Amenfi East municipality was caught red-handed at 1:00 am on 23rd January 2024 in a graveyard doing what they believed to be rituals on the tomb of a young guy who went missing and was later found murdered with some body parts taken.
Months ago, some residents in the area of Wassa Ankonsia, another town located in the municipality saw Ezekiel Aikins entering the Ankonsia Cemetery with a pot wrapped with red ribbon in his hands. The guys who ransacked Aikins found a brand-new knife, eggs, schnapps and other materials in the car.
The Assembly Member of the Ankonsia electoral area Hon. Daniel Ayensu explained in an interview with CJ on Denkyiraman Radio’s National Agenda, stating that the young man is a gold miner and a drinking spot owner who has a shop in Wassa Akropong and has decided to expand his business to Ankonsia.
He also said the suspect was beaten by some youths in the town due to anger over the previous incident and murders that occurred. Hon. Ayensu said he kicks against such behaviour on the part of the youths. The suspect Ezekiel is in police custody and the investigation is ongoing.
