Late President Atta-Mills’ maternal family request for an autopsy report needless – Lawyer Abraham Amaliba

Lawyer Abraham Amaliba, member of the national democratic congress legal team has kicked against the Kyedomhemaa of Ekumfi Asaman, Nana Enyimfua III’s request for the sitting president to help provide an autopsy report for her relative and ex president of Ghana the late president John Fiifi Atta Mills. Lawyer Abraham Amaliba’s disapproval

statement on Denkyiraman Radio National Agenda with host Chief Justice Oppong Mensah Cudjoe, follows the Ekumfi Asaman kyedomhemaa, Nana Enyimfua III, seeking to bring back old memories of the late President Mills . On Friday 12th January 2024, Nana Enyinfua led a delegation from the Odoma clan of Ekumfi which happens to be the late prof. Mills’ maternal family to thank His excellency Nana Addo Danquah for rehabilitating the final resting place of their son, father and husband.

The kyedomhemaa went ahead to also lay a claim of not seeing the late president’s autopsy results as to what caused the death of their son. She therefore requested that the sitting president helps in providing that to the family.

However, Lawyer Abraham Amaliba calls this request a needless one and also an orchestrated political action which happens every time there’s going to be an election for a change of government. He said the kyedomhemaa could’ve simply contacted the nuclear family who were close to the late president at the time of his death but decided to publicize it to open healed wounds which is uncalled for.

He also spoke against the involvement of Mr. Samuel Koku Anyidoho who is a former deputy general secretary for the National Democratic Congress, founder and president of the Atta Mills Institute and also served as the head of communications under the Presidency of John Atta Mills.

Lawyer Amaliba says he needs to know his limit ended in his former office with the late Mills, so must not meddle in the family affairs of the late president, if not for the problems he has with the NDC or his interests.

Lawyer Abraham Amaliba finally said, “Koku Ayindoho as at the time of the late president’s death was the aide to him and has videos of how the incident happened, he should stop making it look like there’s something fishy about the death”.
