A young Togolese National by the Name of Haruna Muba who is in his 30s is currently in police custody at the Dunkwa on Offin after he was arrested for allegedly attempting to behead his best friend, Maxwell Amponsah, 20 years old, for money rituals
The accused was arrested at Denkyira Ayanfuri a mining Community in the upper Denkyira West district of the central region when he attempted to sell
one of his co-workers at a galamsey site for Eighty thousand Cedis (800 million) to buy a Camry Vehicle.
He was arrested by residents of Ayanfuri after he attempted to kill Maxwell Amponsah, failed on Sunday, 26 November 2023, Denkyiraman online reports.
According to Denkyiraman radio reporter Dominic Gyan, at about 7:45 am Sunday, the suspect allegedly lured the friend, Maxwell Amponsah, 20 years, to a house in the bush, to slaughter a goat to prepare food for gusts who will be attending his sister’s wedding, not knowing that the man he thought was his friend, had other plans for him and that was to kill him for rituals.
According to our source, the accused first attempted to behead his own sister’s daughter who is 17 years old, but was told the lady was too Young for such rituals. He then proceeded to bring his friend in the name of giving him a Job to do. Some community leaders of Ayanfuri, the police, together with BNI officials, and a Journalist were ambushed at the Scene.
Haruna in the act of Beheading his friend was
arrested and admitted to the offence. He would be put before court for attempted murder on Tuesday 28th November, 2023.
