DRAINAGE SYSTEM AT DUNKWA LORRY PARK HAS COMMENCED- MCE

The construction of the Dunkwa Lorry park has commenced with the construction of the drainage system.

The Dunkwa Lorry Park some years now has been the biggest place for both drivers and traders to do business in the muddy stations during the rainy season and dusty during the dry season.

Hence authorities in Upper Denkyira East Municipality, thus Nananom, the current member of Parliament, Hon. Festus Awuah Kwoffie, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ebenezer Forson Appiah, have commenced the construction of the drainage system at the lorry station

This was after a family (Ekyem family ) secured a court injunction from the Dunkwa High Court over the land meant for the construction of the Lorry park after they sued the Upper Denkyira East municipal assembly.

The court injunction delayed the construction of the drainage system until recently when the injunction was left
after the Lands Commission provided all the necessary documents associated with the case.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Upper Denkyira East, Hon. Ebenezer Appiah Forson in an interview with Denkyiraman radio said the construction of the drainage system at Dunkwa Lorry Park is solely funded by the member of parliament for Upper Denkyira East constituency, Hon. Festus Awuah Kwoffie.

According to the MCE, the 311 culverts used for the construction of the drainage system were all founded by Hon. Dr. Festus Awuah Kwoffie.

The MCE has assured residents in the municipality that he will make sure the contractor working on the drainage system completes the first phase on time.

Meanwhile, some residents of Dunkwa have also expressed their gratitude to the Assembly and Member of Parliament for funding the construction of the drainage system. Some also appealed to the MP to make sure the contractor did standard and proper work.

Meanwhile, traders and drivers have been relocated to other markets and lorry Stations in town.
