Morocco has been voted to be the host country for the Total Energies African Cup of Nations tournament (AFCON) 2025.
All members of the Executive Committee of AFCON voted in favour of Morocco during their meeting in Cairo, Morocco today.
Guinea who were initially supposed to host the 2025 AFCON were stripped of the right to host the tournament last year by CAF due to challenges they faced in preparing for the tournament.
This is only the second time that Morocco will host Africa’s most popular sporting event, almost four decades after the previous time in 1988.
