The Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira East constituency Hon. Dr. Festus Awuah Kwofie has presented 300 bags of cement and 100 bed bunks to three Schools in his community to support education delivery.
The 300 bags of cement were purchased from the MP`s share of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to assist Dunkwa Nursing and Midwifery Training College and Dunkwa Senior High Technical School respectively to support ongoing projects in the schools.
The MP through his lobbying skills was able to lobby for 100 student beds which can accommodate 200 students and shared them with Dunkwa Senior High Technical School, Boas Amponsem Senior High School and Dunkwa Nursing and Midwifery Training College.
Speaking to the media after the presentation, Dr Festus Awuah, emphasised that education was key in fighting against poverty and that he would not hesitate to assist in improving the quality of teaching and learning in the constituency.
Receiving the items on behalf of the schools the upper Denkyira East Municipal Director of Education Mr Anthony Takyi commended the member of Parliament for the kind gesture.
